Material Applications

Applications

  • 1.1730
Unhardened: For the construction of molds and tools of big dimensions, clamping plates, leader pins, etc.

  • 1.2083
    Mold inserts.

  • 1.2085
Molds and mold components for plastic injection. Not indicated for inserts.

  • 1.2312
Core parts for pressing injection dies, mold assemblies. For blacking tools; built-on parts with increased stress, baseplates, frames, die sets. For die-casting dies: frames and assembling parts with low operating stress.

  • 1.2316
Larger plastic molds and inserts for manufacturing chemically sensitive materials such as PVC, amino plastics, and similar materials, particularly for extrusion tools for window profile production, sizing tools, blowing molds, sheet dies.

  • 1.2344
Dies for the extrusion of tubes and profiles. Plastic molds for large productions, mold inserts exposed to abrasion as in the case of hard plastics, thermoplastics, and compounds. Die-casting, mold inserts, slides, core parts, ejector pins, and filling bushes.

  • 1.2711
Tools for pressure and injection molds with high mechanical and thermal stress. Special qualities include excellent high polishability. Mold tools for thermo-hardening materials subject to abrasion. Forging dies. Hardening and tempering are only indicated after roughing.

  • 1.2738
Pressure and plastic injection molds of large dimensions, such as for bumpers, panels, instrument clusters, chairs, rubbish containers, bottle cases, TV boxes, and frames for aluminum injection molds.

Characteristics

  • 1.1730
Unalloyed tool steel, easy to machine, high tensile strength.

  • 1.2083
Stainless steel, corrosion-resistant for molds working with chemically aggressive materials. Excellent polishing and machining properties.

  • 1.2085
Stainless steel, corrosion-resistant for molds with high sulfur content compared to 1.2316 ISO-B MOD. Excellent machining properties.

  • 1.2312
Hardened and tempered steel for molds in the plastic industry, sulfur alloy, easy to machine. Not indicated for polishing, acid engraving, or hard chrome.

  • 1.2316
Stainless steel, corrosion-resistant, hardened and tempered. Good resistance to wear and polishing, high tensile strength.

  • 1.2738
Hardened and tempered steel for high-pressure and plastic injection molds with thicknesses over 400 mm. Similar properties to 1.2311 ISO-BM but with better hardening qualities. Homogeneous hardening structure, suitable for grain reliability, polishing, and hard plating. Easy to machine. Nitratable.

  • 1.2344
Chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy hot-working steel. Very good retention of hardness, good toughness; high hardness at elevated temperatures, excellent compression strength, resistance to thermal shocks, better wear resistance than 1.2343, and good machinability in the annealed condition, with limited water cooling.

  • 1.2711
High tensile strength, compression resistance, excellent polishing qualities. Nitratable, suitable for hard plating, highly polishable with capacity for textures.
